R.A. Dickey trains to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, by jogging in an oxygen-deprivation training mask. By climbing the mountain, Dickey aims to raise money for the Bombay Teen Challenge charity, which fights against human trafficking.

The Mets have understandably advised Dickey not to climb the mountain for the sake of his safety. They have let it be known that his contract will be voided if he God forbid gets injured during the climb.

Best of luck to R.A. Dickey! He’s a great man and he’s doing it for a great cause.
